Our resource centers display a large range of adapted equipment to help those with a visual impairment with every day tasks and help them remain independent.  The range of equipment we have includes:

►       Talking clocks and watches

►       Large print stationery, i.e. Diaries, calendars and writing frames

►       Items for the home, i.e. big button phones and kitchen items

►       Items related to health

►       Large print playing cards and games

►       Range of different lighting including floor standing and portable lamps

►       CCTV video magnifiers, which are used to magnify text on to a screen

Staff and volunteers are always willing to demonstrate and help select appropriate equipment for individual needs. Also they can give advice to members on any issues concerning visual impairment and many of the volunteers working in the resource centre will have experience of sight loss themselves so can give advice on personal experience.
